Hallo!

Ich habe hier nun OpenVMS 8.4 auf einem Alpha installiert und bin so
weit, eine zusätzliche Festplatte eingebunden und einen User angelegt
zu haben :-)

Aber: Cobol und Basic fehlen. Pascal ist interessanterweise drauf. Da
Cobol ein Hauptgrund für das VMS ist: Wie bekomme ich dieses aufs
System? Ich dachte, das ist auf der System-CD drauf...

Ich wüsste nicht, dass jemals irgendein Compiler bei VMS automatisch
mitinstalliert worden wäre.

Das Zeug war immer alles auf den software product library CDs.

Schon möglich.
Kommt halt drauf an, wo die VAX bzw. deren Klon herkam.

Unsere damals (1990) aus Rumänien (Coral 750).

Und die hatte alles mögliche an Compilern (Fortran, Pascal, C,
Bl[e|i]ss(?), ...) drauf. Die Fortran-Unterlagen müsste ich noch
irgendwo haben.
Inwieweit das vorinstalliert und lizensiert war, weiß ich nicht, da ich
erst etwas später dazu kam.

Scheinbar bin ich zu dämlich, das zu finden :-( Unter openvms.org finde
ich zwar einige passend scheinende CDs, wie ich an die herankomme finde
ich aber nicht.

Auf vaxhaven.com finde ich software product libraries von 2001 - k.A.
mit welcher Version von OpenVMS die kompatibel ist...
